Data Spaces Give Every Pillar a Place to Save Stuff

22 May 2026 Michael Pye new feature live in pre-prod

Clip

Summary

Data Spaces just landed in pre-prod. Think personal data store that every pillar can read from and write to — Navigator, Researcher, Evo Builder. David asked Researcher to generate a teleprompter script and save it as a row in a new Data Space. Then asked for a second script. Then asked to pull the first one back. Two prompts, a working database, zero setup. Cosmos under the hood, share access with colleagues via grants.

David giving us a view of databases.

Hi everyone, let me share out my screen. So yes, I'm talking about a concept that we've just released into pre-prod and it's actually called data spaces. So it's not really a researcher specific feature.

It's something that we can use across all of the pillars. And the data space is a personal space for you to house your own data. So it can be accessed from Navigator.

So I've got a micro front end here. And if I click on it, this is my personal list of data spaces. And it can be anything. underneath the UI, it's a piece of Cosmos.

So it's quite scalable. And you can have a number of data spaces. So on here, just to give you an example, if I click on one, I've got a data space with a series of columns, which is just customer records, and I can add to it.

You can't add to the actual file row by row within a data space. That's what you use the other pillars for, so like a researcher or an EVO builder, etc. But I've created a few here and Here's an example where I've got quite a lot of data in.

So to create a data space, there's two ways of doing it. You can create one directly here within the MFE, but all you can do is give it a name, a description, and you can upload like an Excel file because you may already have an Excel file, a series of columns, and then your data's there, so it's ready to be consumed. by the other pillars. But I'm going to try and create one using one of the pillars, specifically Researcher.

So if I just close that down and I go into Researcher, so I've got a series of projects here. If I go into May demos, I'm going to just create a new project. Now my use case here is I've done a... a demo before where I showed an action.

If you recall, that was a micro front end being bought into Researcher. But what I'm going to do is I'm going to use that same micro front end, which was the my teleprompter, and I'm going to try and create a data space so that I can save all my previous scripts. So, I'm gonna call this eBay.

Data space. Review, so I'm just creating a new project in researcher. I don't need any instructions now.

I'm not going to add a connector. Now, what we normally do is we add a connector and data spaces is a connector, but the reason I'm not adding it, I'll show in a minute. I'm just going to add in my teleprompter MFE.

And I'm good. So I mentioned I didn't add a connector and that's because we've decided that data spaces will be turned on for every project. So it's always there if you need it.

And we've also got a dedicated data spaces tab. So this lists all of those data spaces that I showed you that are now available to any project that I create. I've also got my MFE.

So what I'm going to do is I've got a demo coming up. And I want to create a engaging script around data spaces, so bring me an engaging. How great data spaces are. and put it in my teleprompter.

So that's my first step. So I'm not doing anything with data spaces at the moment. I'm just creating a script to talk about how they are.

So if anyone remembers, the teleprompter just allows you to create a script and then you can view it and you can read it. So just to remind people that was the actual script and you can control the speed of it. Now the problem with this is I've got no, dare I say it, database underneath it to save any of this information.

But what I can say, I can say, can you take that script and create me a data space? Olds. And.

David Evo data space. For you? And, can you type script, go to this place called review and add the script?

So right. So hopefully it will save what I've generated here into the data space. So it's found the data space.

It's taken the script that I've got. And hopefully it's created the data space. Now it's going to put that record into the data space.

So it says it's done it. So if I go on to the data space tab, there's my data space. So it's dynamically created it.

And there's my script. So what's cool about this, I can create another script just to show you. Can you...

Give me one more script about... Evo Researcher. include excitement, etc. Pass it to my teleprompter.

And save it. As a row in my beta space. So I've asked it to do two things here.

Create a new teleprompter, in this case about Evo Researcher, and try and save it to my data space. It says it's going to do it all at once, so hopefully. So there's the new one, completely different script.

We've read that. And let's see. And it says it is now created in my data space.

So if I check my data space, if you recall, it was this one. I've got one record in. I'm hoping that's a refresh issue.

Yeah. OK, brilliant. So now it's saved two of the scripts. in there and then it really is just a matter of I can then read with a database.

Can you take? The first script I did. and put it in the teleprompter. So I can query now the data space. and hopefully bring the first one back, which was about data spaces specifically.

So, hopefully, it's got it. And it's gonna put the first one back in. Yeah, there we go.

So very quickly, I've just been able to have some kind of data store and you can use this for any project you're doing. So the ability to have a data space and store stuff against it inside of Researcher is a really big big thing. You don't really have that in Claude Desktop.

I'm sure there's other connectors that perhaps you could do that, but this is all coming from our ecosystem. So I think what we're seeing now is... Connectors are really going to make us fly in this new world.

It's really good what you can do. I've also taken the data space and used it as a backend for Evo Builder. Oh, the other thing I forgot to mention, if I go back to Navigator, and just show you the data space just to prove that it's all there.

There's another option on it called grants. I'm an admin of this one. I can add a colleague and give them access to the data space as well.

Um...
