Summary
The team showed fixes for two real pain points. Drill-downs being built to carry active filters across data views — no more landing on an unfiltered report after clicking into detail. Multi-field drill-downs (two fields at once) are being added too. Calculated fields are also coming to the conditional formatting dropdown, so variance columns and case expressions can drive colour rules without workarounds. Charles walked through both in a live demo.

I have, yes. Thank you for reminding me. Yep.

Yeah, that'd be great. Thanks. So I'm doing the introduction since Andrea's not here with some input from Andrea.
So we've got two quick improvements today that solve real frustrations. Problem one is drill downs, lose your filters. You're looking at Q1 EMEA sales, you click for details and you land on an unfiltered report showing everything.
You start over reapplying philtres manually. Problem 2, calculated fields aren't recognised in conditional formatting. You've built a variance column, but when you set up a formatting rule, It doesn't appear as an option.
You're forced into workarounds to highlight the values you care about. The solution enhanced drill-downs let you map multiple fields and carry philtres across data views, and calculated fields now appear in the formatting criteria drop-down, just like any other column. The outcome, you stay in contacts. in context when exploring data and you format reports based on what numbers actually mean.
Let me show you both of these in action. I'm now sharing my screen. I'm going to start with the calculated fields in conditional formatting and I'm showing an insight that I've set up.
And it's got calculated fields, which is the total profit calculation. I'm just going to show up to start with. So it's just subtracting the costs from the revenue to get the profits.
That's simple calculation. And I've also created a conditional formatting rule which have not applied yet. Just to show in the field selection here, you can see we've got that. simple expression, the total profit calculation.
And we've also, we can also see the case expressions. There's a case expression I created here. So yeah, I've already selected that and I'm just going to apply that now to my column, select which one to apply it to.
And it's looking for values over 12 million, then it's going to be green, otherwise it's going to be red. And then I just save to apply that. And we can see the column is formatted correctly depending on those values.
The second thing to demo is the drill downs. So I've set up two insights for this, which I'm going to show to start with. So there's the first insights here, which is a simple table showing.

Not sure if it's just me, Charles, but I can't hear you anymore.
Jon Coello 44:22
Yeah, I've lost the sound, Charles.
Martin Vassilev 44:24
Yeah, yeah, same.
Elliot Iles 44:25
Oh.
Jon Coello 44:26
I don't think he can hear us either.
Ben Carter 44:35
Yeah.
Elliot Iles 44:45
Yes.
Charles Gunn-Russell 44:48
Can you?
Jon Coello 44:49
Yep.
Charles Gunn-Russell 44:50
Oh, thanks. Yeah, it says my mic wasn't working, so hope that's okay now. Right, so...
Yes, so I'm on the first insight and I'm going to edit that and go to the drill down editor. So I have set up two drill downs here. The first drill down is going to be within the same insight, therefore the same data view.
The second drill down is going to be between different data views using the other insight we showed, and that's going to include philtres as well. So the first drill that I've set up is 2 field drill down. We've kind of reworked this UI to allow for multiple fields.
So if you're using the same data view, then you won't see the philtre to philtre because philtres will automatically be transferred. So you can see we've got the field to field section. I've selected 2 fields, country and sales channel.
Before you could only select one field. I'm now going to apply the drill down. So I select this.
It's got country of Australia and sales channel of offline. And I select the drill down on two field drill down. It's using the same insight.
And we can see it's only displaying the rows with. country of Australia and the sales channel of offline. The second drill down is going to be between the insights. So let's go to view modes.
So yes, I'm going to Drill down. On the second one, which is 2 field drill down with filter, firstly going to do that without applying a philtre and then with the filter. So I select the drill down and we can see it's drilled down to the country of Australia in the smart chart insights.
We've got a volume of about 57 and a half million for the total revenue for the offline sales channel. And now I'm going to go back and what I'm
Jon Coello 47:03
I.
Charles Gunn-Russell 47:08
going to do is I'm going to apply a philtre
